My grandma told me I would be thrown into the fires of Gehenna if I cut my hair. Is this true? I

My husband always lets me cut my hair as long as it is longer than halfway down my back. However, my grandma is staying with us for right now and she found out I was going to get my hair trimmed just to take off the split ends. She told me if I did that I would be thrown into Gehenna. I have never heard of that before and it scared me and I started crying because I like my hair length trimmed. She has always worn her hair long but I have never heard her say this before. Is this true? I wanted to ask my husband but he is in an important meeting right now so I can't call.

My grandma told me I would be thrown into the fires of Gehenna if I cut my hair. Is this true? I'm scared.

I dont think so. If, in your religion, what your hubby says you follow, and he says its okay, then dont worry. Wait till Granny leaves, just to keep the peace.

Hey guys, dont be mean about her beliefs. Shes asking a serious question.

the BIble doesnt give a length... make it longer than the current style of a man's hair as a rule of thumb

remmember the 60s... maybe not... the men had long hair and the women had super long hair...

you should look feminine... contrasted witht he men around you

I think your hair should be lnger than your husbands

if you wwant it short.. tell him that buzzed look is very masculine

today lots of women have short hair and men in gyms are shaving their heads to look masc

They will just tell you that Jesus fulfilled this law (even though he speaks of it himself)

sounds to me like you have two controle freaks in your house.... cut your hair any way you like... I personaly prefer at least shoulder length for women... and if you are of the Christian Faith you need to concider that your hair is your covering... but down to the middle of your back?... unless you like it that way...no way should you keep it that long... it is your hair and your body... nothing in The Bible says you can not cut your hair.

you are like so weird... you should check the Bible.. Im not christian and even I know where you can find the answer... duhh

Cut your hair to be as short as you wish, as long as you still look unmistakably like a woman. If you watch TV, you'll see there are women with hair of all different lengths, who still look like women, and who aren't all going into the fires of Gehenna.

Time for granny to visit a nut house and stay for a long time.

Grandma's dentures must be on too tight. The closest you can get to anything like this from Scripture is a passage in I Corinthians 11:14-15; "Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering."

That doesn't even sound like a command to me. The passage as a whole deals more with the issue of keeping one's head covered rather than hair length. Keep in mind that -- in the period in which Paul writes -- it was the prostitutes who went around with their heads uncovered. The point is that Christians should make a point to present themselves modestly and not look or act like someone with loose morals.

If Granny has a scripture to back up her claims, I'd see what it says. Otherwise, tell her she's sweet to worry about you and deal with your split ends as you see fit.

yes you will go to hell but not just for cutting your hair but for letting everyone run your life including your icky make- believe husband

I hope you're going somewhere with the latest line of insane and made up questions. You've gotten lucky lately, as you have shocked everyone with this nonsense, but you're not really doing your best work! The grandparents stuff is boring. Yawn!!!

PEOPLE- THIS IS ALL A SERIES OF MADE-UP STORIES! DON'T BUY IT!!!

Little Angel, to answer your question, wait until Grandma leaves and do what you want.

My grandma told me I would be thrown into the fires of Gehenna if I cut my hair. Is this true? I'm scared.

Well I guess we are all going to Gehenna!

My grandma told me I would be thrown into the fires of Gehenna if I cut my hair. Is this true? I'm scared.

Your granny is off her rocker!!

My grandma told me I would be thrown into the fires of Gehenna if I cut my hair. Is this true? I'm scared.

It's a legalism created by religious men, it is based on the scripture concerning women who came to the temple without a head covering. If you read the rest of the scripture, Paul points out that it was custom in that church to continue with this, but he also points out that in the churches that he had started, there was no such custom. Your Grandmother is following a legalism that has no biblical mandate for it.

If that is true, then please, please cut all your hair off as soon as possible! I am certain there are many people here who would be happy to send some scissors to you if you do not have any.
