I haven't cut my hair for five months, is this too long?

Depends.

If your starting to develop split ends/brittle ends then yes. You should get them cut off. As it'll end up wrecking your hair.

You don't have to cut your hair at a certain, time, date etc

Just whenever you feel its right to.

If your hair is all healthy %26amp; fit. Just leave it. And continue with what your doing with it (as long as its not bad).

Good luck.

Well your supposed to get your hair cut about every three months or so...so yes, I'd say you're overdue for a cut.

Some people dont cut their hair until they feel like it. But if you want it to stay healthy you should cut it every 6 weeks or so.

if it looks good who cares, just look good and keep it how you like it! :)

i dont know how long it is but you should get a trim every 3 or so months because the split ends will tear it all up~!

No. If your hair is in good condition and you don't have a lot of splits or breakage and you are happy with the shape, you don't need to cut your hair.

The "trim it every six to eight weeks" rule is bandied about by hairstylists who want to get your butt in their chairs and keep making money.

If your hair doesn't get in your way and you're happy with it, it's not too long.

I try to take good care of mine. I don't currently have split ends. I now have about 6 year's growth. I haven't *cut* my hair beyond search-and-destroy missions for individual split ends in decades. Cutting a healthy hair with *sharp* scissors only shortens it. Cutting a healthy hair otherwise crushes it and can *cause* splitting".

The *last* time I trusted a hairdresser with scissors I look beyond hip-length hair in to become a "pageboy" and I came out with a "poodle". Never, ever again.

It's my personal opinion that any hair that *needs* to be trimmed every few months, *other* than purely for the whimsy of the wearer, is hair that's being neglected or abused. Hair care professionals have techniques to assure themselves of regular repeat business.
