I'm a 16 year old, I have long hair, I like but everyone I know, but one person, dose not think I should have long hair. What should I do?

Doing what YOU want, especially if it's against everybody else (or mostly) is the greatest way to assert yourself. You could assert yourself in worse ways than just letting your hair grow.

When you're a teenager, you need to assert yourself in order to develop an interesting personality. Maybe you're a leader type of personality and you need to make up your own mind.

Some people do not need to assert themselves because they may be followers, and will agree with the majority...or follow one man, one like you, who stands out in a crowd.

The funny thing is that down the line, in 20 years or so, you may look at the pictures of yourself with your long hair and wonder: "what was I thinking?" but by then, my guess is you will have become an interesting person.

lol its your hair and if u like it you shouldnt change it for anyone...believe me.... one time i had beautiful long hair almost down to my butt and then some people persuaded me to cut it off....ehhh i look aweful with short hair! Stick with it if u want.

We ultimately maintain our appreances for others to appreciate, so unless shorter hair REALLY damages your psychological conditon (and i doubt it will) listen to the majority. Unless that ONE person is your partner ;)

Well I don't think you should let people dictate what you do with your body BUT are they trying to be cruel to be kind or just don't like long hair.

Some men just don't suit long hair and personally I don't like it. Some men seem to forget long hair needs more attention so don't grow it unless your prepared to wash it regularly and conditioner wouldn't go a miss either.

If you feel good with long hair then ignore them.

dont cut it grow it down to your ***! freedom of choice is important - dont let them bully you into cutting it because its not their taste - being a metal and rock fan myself i know lots of people in the same position as you - they wouldnt be telling you to cut your hair if you were in a rock band and got huge, be happy and dont let them bully you into doing something you dont want, good luck matexx.

You may want to look deeper into WHY they are saying this to you before making a decision on the hair cut.

Whether you like it or not, your outer appearance says something to others. It's the first thing that strangers size up about your personality. You may think your hair gives the message that you are unique, you're a rebel, etc.; yet, you may be sending a message people are interpreting differently-i.e, you're unkempt, you hide behind your hair, etc.

The good thing is that hair grows back. If you do take the hair cutting advice and you really hate it, just let it grow out again- no harm done.

I think this could be the mark of the beast in your life. People can tend to get fanatical about changing other people's "marks" just like salespeople could ask you to do something their way, just to see how easily you will comply. The manipulation won't stop.

Not that I care how long your hair is, but the glory of women is their hair, according to the apostle Paul. The mark of the beast is the "chi xi stigma". "Chi" means unmarried. See Revelation 13 on www.blueletterbible.com. "Xi" means hard working, or friendly worker or good ergonomics. Stigma means stigma. If people want to get you involved in some political/criminal activity, they will tend to test your propensity to act as if you should be interested in heterosexual weddings/matchmaking/pressuring/moralisi... and/or telling people they shouldn't work so hard, or enjoy themselves so much etc. It tests whether you're suitable for a criminal "job". The Bible specifically says that marriage is a commitment, so don't pressure other people into it, even if they accidentally fall pregnant etc. The haircut is simply a way of testing the waters for these people. And people who are up to no good, whether they realise themselves what's influencing them (criminals don't think of themselves as criminals) or not, tend to hang out in groups and target people to pressure. If you care about these people, do something nice for them and see if that shows them what friendship is really all about. They might be being fooled by somebody else who's being all gooey about how girls "should" behave if they want to become a "lady".

You're 16... who cares if you have long hair? Do what you want... of course don't expect to get a good job with hair like that, lol. People like their employees looking sharp for their customers. Unfortunatelly, the world is based on looks. So do what you feel is right... if i had a kid and he had long hair i'd want him to get a hair cut but do what you want. Why would you want to be miserable because someone else wants you to do something? So rock on my friend, rock on!
