the only thing I could come up with is... braid it and then loop it up. That would keep it together but not be incredibly long and in the way while swimming.

well then, you're somewhat "screwed"

unless the coach lets you swim,

but i doubt it.

Braid it and wrap it around your head like a turban, and secure it with bobby pins.

And what I really want to say: I really, really dig guys with long hair. A lot. Rock on.

I would suggest cutting you hair. Or else get a swim cap. If this doesn't work or you do not want to cut it you can put your hair in a tight bun so make it easier and faster to swim. Hope that helps!!

They have swim caps they will probably sell them at your local pool and they are like $3. You just put them on your head it like a rubber hat everyone that swims usually wears them.

With hair that long I'm sorry to day that your coach probab;y wont let you join, my advice if you dodnt want to cut it would be to at first see if you can fit it all under one of those swimming caps, If It don't fit I don't know what to tell you.

You must be one of those lucky people with wonderful hair! I've been trying to gow it thaty long forever yet have gotten nowhere! Anyway, I don't think joining the swim team is thebest decision if you want to keep that hair length. Chlorine can cause a lot of damage as well as over-showering it!

Unless that is a saltwater pool u r gonna have a mess. u really r gonna have 2 cut it like..... o i dunno.......... NORMAL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is her friend:

I say you might not be able to join the team, or if you really wanna join you could take the risk of tying it up and stuffing it under a cap, or just tie it in i guess a bun or tail or something in that division. It's multiple choice this or that

I swim. The only thing you really CAN do, instead of cutting it off, is to wear a swim cap. The women ALL have to do it, and men with longer hair must wear one as well.

Either that, or you don't swim.

Hair gets in your way, tangled in your arms, etc. I personally had shoulder length hair, and cut it all to about 3 inches, and I'm a girl. I hate swim caps, but if you get one that's silicone [not latex] it won't pull the hair as much. Also, drying it out well after use, and putting talc in it helps.

Oh, and also, use a hair tie to tie your hair up, then, look down, and have someone cap you. It's easier, and it's an almost sure way to get all of your hair in the cap.

Swim caps can stretch A LOT. We once stretched one big enough to fit someone.

And, if you wet your hair with plain water first, your hair won't absorb as much chlorine.

Also, someone said use bobby pins.

You can't do that. You can't wear any jewlery or anything. It's a hazard to other swimmers. I'm not allowed to wear even my earrings, because they MAY come out somehow. Plus, braids don't work. Hair has to be covered with a swim cap.

The only thing that you can do is to hide it under a swim cap, but to prevent it for getting damage by the chlorine, apply conditioner onto your hair before putting it in your swim cap... Not too much conditioner though, it's going to be too messy, just a little bit...

But having hair that long is a little scary...

Good Luck!

Why on earth would you want your hair that long, if I were you I would cut it off and donate it to Locks of Love. It would help kids that have no hair, they can make some great wigs out of your hair and you would be helping yourself by freeing yourself to be able to do things that your hair keeps you from doing. Just my opinion.

Have you considered a bun??? It seems like that would help. Though I wouldn't know how you'd feel about that lol

Happy hair growing!! I too aspire for hair that reaches the floor (when stretched, I have really springy hair!), so good luck to you! :D

Some swimmers cut all hair..........everywhere........so they could glide better.
