I used to have long thick hair that almost kept stright on its own and I resently got a hair cut so that my hair is almost to my shoulders and it has a bunch of layers.

I took a showerw and naturally let it dry and its all wavey and puffy and curly.

How can I fix this?

Either blow dry it straight or get a flat iron. When you got it cut it lightened your hair. Your hair was probably to heavy to curl before and now it isn't.

You'd have to use a straightening iron or get it permanantly straightened. There are also hair "goo's" that you can put on your hair to unfrizz it. Blow drying your hair will make it look smooth at least.

This happened to me in that when my hair was long, it was straighter. But when I cut it short, it was lighter so it got curly. It is because long hair has more weight and pulls down the rest of the hair, weighs it down.

When you had your hair cut, the loss of its weight released the curl. From what you describe, it sounds lovely, but if you don't like it, I might suggest rubbing it down with alcohol-free, clear aloe vera gel. It will tame your hair but leave it feeling soft, not spikey and moussey. If you have time to invest, you might also try using very large curlers to set your hair. (Back in the '60's, my aunt used to used washed-out orange juice cans.) I would advise against using a blow fryer...I mean dryer. Because that's exactly what it does to your hair.

Ok, so, flat-iron it when it's still damp, then blow-dry it! It will look real good if you curl the ends either in or out, good luck and hav fun!

Go with the flow. use a good moisturizer, so the hair doesn't frizz too much, brush it after washing, then bend over, and shake your head. when you stand up, gently move your hair into place and shake it again, then just walk away and let it dry. The tousled, natural look is all in, and people love natural curls and waves, especially on young women.

well.. u can choose some kind of hair product wit wet looked effect.. or.. .. go to straighten it.. but it cant last since ur hair wil b growing up.. n it wil b looked worse if hair ur hair is straight n de other half is wavey.. de best way is.. go to saloon or some professional hair stylist to ask for some opinion.. perhaps.. they could provide u some effectivel ways to cope it..~~

When I had curly/wavy hair... I always used a ConAir ShinyStraight straightener... worked wonders for me.... and it;s not too expensive either...

if your going to use a straightenor. use a thin revlon (black with gold plates (NOT shiny plates. Ceramic plates. PS. the plates are the things that straighten your hair.) or a black wet 2 straight. its black with silver ceramic plates. theres a large one and a small one. you should probably get a small one.

and if you want to curl your hair you should straighten it first and then put in heat rollers or regular rollers

or scrunch your hair at night by getting out of the shower. putting moose and gel in and then putting your hair in a TIGHT bun and then putting in hair spray. sleep with the bun in and in the morning your hair will be so curly and not wavy or puffy!
