the sides are garde one blended to a four . texturised on top. but be careful make sure they blend it well or it will not look the same especially if u have thick hair.

just take that picture into the salon, and they can do it for you without knowing the length of your hair

My best guess is around 2.5-3 inches...can't really tell though. If your stylist or whoever you go to is experienced, they should be able to tell from a picture.
